Jomolhari Yaksa Loop Expedition

11 Days 10 Nights

Overview

The Jumolhari–Yaksa Loop Trek is one of Bhutan’s most scenic and rewarding high-altitude treks, combining dramatic Himalayan landscapes with rich alpine ecology and traditional yak-herding culture. Starting from Paro, the trail follows pristine river valleys, dense forests, and open meadows before reaching the spectacular Jomolhari Base Camp beneath Mount Jomolhari (7,326 m).

The trek crosses the high Yalela Pass (4,800 m), offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and turquoise lakes, before descending through the remote Yaksa and Thombu valleys, known for alpine flowers and occasional wildlife sightings. Designed with proper acclimatization, the route is ideal for trekkers seeking a challenging yet balanced Himalayan experience.

This trek is best suited for physically fit trekkers with a spirit of adventure and is typically undertaken in spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October), when weather and mountain views are at their best. It offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and high-mountain adventure, making it a signature trekking experience in Bhutan.

Nice route 👍 The Jumolhari–Yaksa Loop is a classic, but your draft needs a bit of polishing, consistency, and clarity.
